You can customize the forms that you use to create or edit a contact, deal, company, and case. The system provides you default forms for these assets and you can add new fields, delete the default fields, or change the sequence of form fields.

Click on Settings link available at the top right side of the navigation bar.

The Settings page appears.

Example 1: To customize the form when you add a new contact.

In Customization section, click on Form Layout link available in Contacts sub-section.

The page appears as below.

In Standard Fields section available at left side, you can see some pre-defined form fields that are already available to the form. Here, the options are:

  • Remove: Click on this button to remove the corresponding field from the form.
  • Add: This button is available for fields that you have removed from the form. Click on this button to add the corresponding form field to the form. When you click on Add button, the corresponding form field is added at the end of the form in Form Settings section.
  • Re-order: You can use this option to rearrange the sequence or order of fields in a form. Click on the field to drag and move it to any other location in the same form.

Example 2: When you customize a form to add new new company, in Standard Fields section, you can see the Name form field and the Required text corresponding to it as below.

It means that the Name form field is mandatory to be available for creating a new company form. You cannot remove this field from form.

When you customize a form to add new deal, in Standard Fields section, you can see the Title and Deal for form fields and the Required text corresponding to them, as below.

It means that the Title and Deal for form fields are mandatory to be available for creating a new deal form. You cannot remove these fields from form.

When you customize a form to add new case, in Standard Fields section, you can see the Subject form field and the Required text corresponding to it, as below.

It means that the Subject form field is mandatory to be available for creating a new case form. You cannot remove this field from form.

You can also add custom fields for any form. 

Add User Instructions for Each Form Field

You can add the user instruction for each form field. For example: For First name form field, you can write the instruction for user as write your first name. In Form Settings section, click in the form field area and you can write the instruction as below.

Write the instruction in Instructions for User field.

Click on Save button. You can see that the instruction is displayed in small help icon corresponding to form field.

Setup Custom Values

When you customize a form as mentioned earlier in this article, you can also add custom values for these default fields available in the form for following assets.

  • Contacts
  • Deals
  • Companies¬†
  • Cases

In addition to the default form fields available in the system for creating different assets form, you can also add custom fields.
