Contacts: Setup Custom Settings

For the contacts that you add in your Karma account, you can define custom settings of these contacts such as what values you want to see when you add and manage contacts’ status, stages, industries, and contact referral sources. So, you can plan what all values you need for different fields when you add a new contact in the account.

Click on Settings link available at the top right side of the navigation bar.

The Settings page appears. 

To Customize the Status

Click on Contact Statuses link available in Contacts sub-section as below.

You can see that a few fields are already added to the form and few more are available in the left sidebar that you can add to the form. You can define custom settings of a field only if it is already available in the form. Else, you need to add the field in a form before you customizes it. (Please see customize the form for detailed instructions.)

As you click on Contact Statuses link, the Status field is highlighted and is opened by default, as below.

You can see all the available options for Status field such as urgent, warm, and cold. You can perform following actions on each status option.

Edit the Option

Click on  to edit the corresponding option.

Change the name of option. Click on Update button to save the changes.

Delete the Option

Click on  to delete the corresponding option. karmaCRM asks you to confirm whether you want to delete the option. 

Click on Yes button and the option is deleted.

Re-order

Click on the option to drag and drop it to other location. You can use this option to rearrange the sequence or order of options for the field.

Add New Option

Click on Add another Option button. Write the name of new status option.  

Click on Create button and the new status option is added.

Now when you add status for a new or an existing contact, the new status option is also available.

To Customize the Stage

Click on Contact Stages link available in Contacts sub-section as below.

You can see that a few fields are already added to the form and few more are available in the left sidebar that you can add to the form. You can define custom settings of a field only if it is already available in the form. Else, you need to add the field in a form before you customizes it.  (Please see customize the form for detailed instructions.)

As you click on Contact Stages link, the Stage field is opened by default, as below

You can see all available options for Stages field such as contact, lead, and requirements. You can perform following actions on each stage option.

  • Click on edit icon to make the change the name of option.
  • Delete the required option.
  • Rearrange the sequence of options for the field.
  • Add new option for the field. 

Follow the same process as explained for contact statuses earlier in the article. 

Now when you add stage for a new or an existing contact, the new stage option is also available. 

To Customize the Industry

Click on Industries link available in Contacts sub-section as below.

You can see that a few fields are already added to the form and few more are available in the left sidebar that you can add to the form. You can define custom settings of a field only if it is already available in the form. Else, you need to add the field in a form before you customizes it. (Please see customize the form for detailed instructions.)

As you click on Industries link, the Industry field is opened by default as below.

You can see all available options for Industries field. You can perform following actions on each industry option.

  • Click on edit icon to make the change the name of option.
  • Delete the required option.
  • Rearrange the sequence of options for the field.
  • Add new option for the field. 

Follow the same process as explained for contact statuses earlier in the article. 

Now when you add industry for a new or an existing contact, the new industry option is also available.

To Customize the Referral Source

Click on Referral Sources link available in Contacts sub-section as below.

 

You can see that a few fields are already added to the form and few more are available in the left sidebar that you can add to the form. You can define custom settings of a field only if it is already available in the form. Else, you need to add the field in a form before you customizes it. (Please see customize the form for detailed instructions.)

As you click on Referral Sources link, the Referral Source field is opened by default as below.

You can see all the available options for referral sources such as website, phone and exiting contact. You can perform following actions on each referral source option.

  • Click on edit icon to make the change the name of option.
  • Delete the required option.
  • Rearrange the sequence of options for the field.
  • Add new option for the field. 

Follow the same process as explained for contact statuses earlier in the article. 

Now when you add referral source for a new or an existing contact, the new referral source option is also available, as below.

Custom Settings for Custom Fields

In addition, you can define custom fields for the form, and setup any values for those new custom fields. (Please see add custom fields for detailed instructions.)
